COOPER TIRE & RUBBER COMPANY (NYSE: CTB) and United Steelworkers Local 752L reached a tentative agreement on a new four-year labor contract shortly before the current contract was scheduled to expire. Details of the agreement are being held pending presentation to the Union's membership. The proposal will be presented to Union members for ratification next week.

This letter confirms the intent of RRG to purchase 100% of the outstanding Hi-Tek common stock.  RRG will exchange ordinary shares of RRG common stock in exchange for 100% of the issued and outstanding shares of Hi-Tek.   The terms and conditions are outlined in an Equity Purchase Agreement to be completed, on approval of the board of directors of each company, on or before February 29, 2012.

It's now been a month since Cooper Tire & Rubber and the USW Local 207L have sat down at the negotiating table, and the lockout is a month-and-a-half old.  As the labor struggle drags on there is growing frustration among the local union members.  Despite that, many of them tell the Courier they will stand strong.  Reporter Lou Wilin recently sat down with some of the workers, who told him they would still reject the contract offer that led to the lockout.

The consumption of natural rubber (NR) increased substantially in November and December, according to the latest data by the Rubber Board. In November, the growth in consumption was seven per cent compared to the 4.3 per cent growth in production. In December, production increased one per cent whereas consumption increased 2.4 per cent. Till October, this pattern was vice-versa as the growth in consumption was very meagre, compared to the sharp upward trend in production.

The Plastic and Rubber business unit is comprised of the Industrial Molding and Delta Rubber operations and had revenues of $39.1 million in 2010.

Mr. Dorton joined NN in June of 2005 as Vice President, CFO and Corporate Development. He was promoted to Senior Vice President in May 2010. In addition to his new responsibilities, he will continue in his current role as Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and Chief Financial Officer.
