Compression Molding, Plastics and Rubber
Compression molders place pre-heated rubber or plastic in the bottom half of a mold (also usually pre-heated) and then lower the top half of the mold down to compress the material into the desired shape. Relatively lower tooling costs are among the advantages of compression molding, which is used to make a wide array of products, such as golf ball centers, water bottles and automotive fenders, scoops and spoilers.
